Death Proof & 1408 Review.....Before watching the movie

Well, I finally broke down and decided that it is almost horror dvd buying spree time for me so I went ahead and bought 1408 on dvd. First thing they gave me a 20 dollar gift card to some online popcorn place but on the site most things are 40 bucks and above. So, I'm sitting down to watch this before the Bears game starts and I get annoyed by the previews they have on dvds before the movie even begins. But what the fuck is with the commercials and public service announcements? I see enough of those damn truth anti smoking ads when I watch the crap that they serve us on tv. That's it. I'll probably give you an update after I watch the film.

At least I have already watched Death Proof before trying to give a review. This movie is good. The car scenes are pretty damn cool. The Chicks are hott. What else does a movie really need. Oh yeah, the kiwi who plays one of the crazy chicks in the movie is a hottie but even more so with that New Zealand accent. But i'm sure many of you know I'm a sucker for them or or some of the other British type accents. Some of the best assignments I get at work are when I have users from Scotland on the line. Anyways, that chick, I think her name is Zoe, is a stunt woman in films and actually was the stunt double for Uma Thurman in Kill Bill. I'm normally not big on the second disc special features on movies but this one is pretty cool with documentaries and of course an entire section on Zoe.
So, there you go. Two completely crappy movie reviews that don't really talk about the movies. Oh well, Death Proof is a definate watch and I'll update later on 1408.
Update: So, just finished 1408 and it didn't disappoint. This isn't a crazy scary movie or anything but it was good. Probably the best line in the movie is by the bad ass Samuel L Jackson. When John Cusack is checking into the room Samuel L Jackson says It's an Evil Fucking room. It's just great the way he says it but then again, no one uses the F-bomb like Samuel L Jackson. Anyways, this is definately worth watching. Check it out.
